Open 7 days, 12pm – late 7 Rees Street 03 441 8492 email@example.com Perfect place for: DIY playlist afficcionados, electronic music, fun-in-the-afternoon-sun outside decks
Our humble opinion: located in between Beach Street and the Queenstown Mall, Surreal is strategically out of the backpacker circuit, which suits many locals and visitors looking for a cool place to have a drink or two. The outside balcony should provide a glimpse of how busy the place is, although the extra floors and roof top beer garden are a welcome retreat for those seeking more intimacy. The music varies throughout the week, with Tuesdays being some of the busiest as they promote the Open Mic Night with local legend Charlie Gibson, always attracting talented musicians and providing great entertainment. Known for its passion for electronic music, Surreal has hosted an array of famous DJs, with Carl Cox topping the list after showing up twice in the last couple of years, for the crowd’s delight. Jukebox Night is also a hit amongst locals, as you can pick and choose tunes on-the-go together with the great staff. Surreal is not about music, though: they also serve lunch and dinner with a diverse menu to suit all. Some great beers on tap close the deal, so definitely worth checking the place out next time you’re out and about in town.
